University Centre Weston

At Weston College, our vision is to enable students to fulfil their potential through excellent teaching plus strong support and guidance, all within a state-of-the-art learning environment.

The College has three main campuses; the modern University Campus, our extensively-refurbished, town-centre, Knightstone Campus, and the continually developing South West Skills Campus.

Each site provides students with modern, state-of-the-art, facilities designed to enhance their learning experience and enable them to succeed.

University Campus

The multi-million pound University Campus opened in September 2007, and in summer 2014 was extended, with an additional six modern classrooms and a new photographic studio being added.

This campus is home to the stand-alone Sixth Form Centre, Creative Arts, and also houses most of our Degree-level education, which we deliver in partnership with Bath Spa University and the University of the West of England.

The central building includes the Bath Spa Gallery, a LibraryPlus resource, bistro, shop and social area. The campus also has its own sports pitch.

Knightstone Campus

Just a few minutes’ walk from the town centre, and a stone’s throw from the seafront, this landmark building has undergone extensive refurbishments in recent years to provide the best possible educational environment for our students.

This campus includes a light, bright, open reception area, an award-winning, multi-resourced LibraryPlus facility, commercial-standard hair and beauty salons, industry-standard gymnasium, a professional training kitchen and Grove restaurant, plus a dedicated, architecturally-designed, University Centre. The campus is home to a Costa Coffee shop and Bistro, too.

Among the latest developments at this campus is the creation of a dedicated learning area for people with profound and multiple learning difficulties, with classrooms, a dining area and sensory room. Nearby is a new workshop facility for students with Learning Difficulties and Disabilities.

Immediately next to the Knightstone Campus is the Hans Price conference and events centre.

South West Skills Campus

This multi-use site has undergone a massive, multi-million pound redevelopment in recent years. This campus now includes:

Construction and Engineering Centre of Excellence (CECE)

This is where we deliver training in a growing range of practical construction skills including bricklaying, carpentry, electrical installation, multi-craft, property maintenance, painting and decorating, plastering and plumbing, as well as renewable energy courses. All the training takes place in our bespoke, well-equipped workshops.

Automotive Technology Centre (ATC)

This facility features large workshops, computer suites with vehicle diagnostics, and hi-tech classrooms, together with an area specially dedicated to training motor racing technicians.

Business Enterprise Centre (BEC)

BEC is a specialist department that provides businesses and staff with flexible, work-based training and Apprenticeship services, as well as supporting unemployed people back into work, through specially-tailored training packages. BEC is based in the modern Lord Baker Innovation Centre, which officially opened in January 2014.
