We are delighted to announce that Higher Education students have rated TyneMet College top in the country for student satisfaction with 100% of students satisfied with their course, outshining a vast array of 322 universities and colleges across the country in the latest National Student Survey (NSS 2014).

TyneMet has strong partnerships with regional universities with a wide choice of courses that are flexible to fit around your lifestyle and career aspirations. Award winning lecturers are here to support you throughout your studies and all of our Foundation Degrees and Teaching qualifications are awarded by the University of Sunderland. This means we can offer you great progression opportunities to top up your qualification through our partnership with the University.

Our Higher Education Centre includes IT resources, social spaces, meeting areas and interactive classrooms. We have suites of PCs in our well-equipped libraries and IT workshops, as well as a number of Wi-Fi hotspots. All students have access to TyneMet’s intranet and the internet, as well as Moodle, our Virtual Learning Environment, which contains study materials, directed learning tasks and course notes.

Other on-site recreational facilities include a dedicated Higher Education Common Room, a refectory, a Hair & Beauty Salon, a Floristry shop, a coffee shop and a student-run restaurant.
