Mattersey Hall

Mattersey Hall, the National Leadership Academy of the Assemblies of God, is a Bible College with a mandate ‘to form the next generation of Christian leaders.’ This is achieved through a unique collaboration of excellent theological training in the lecture room, weekend-long live ministry placements in a vibrant local church, plus an annual cross-cultural short-term mission, all designed to develop productive Christian character and service in leadership and ministry.

At Mattersey, we emphasise character formation, lifelong learning and academic excellence, plus the highest level of spiritual devotion. Our teaching programmes are designed to ensure that our students become effective thinkers, good communicators and passionate followers of Jesus in the communities to which they are called to serve. In recent times, we have reshaped the college week to enable people of all ages and commitments to access our lectures, while helping all our full-time students to be significantly connected to the real life scenarios and necessities of the local church. We believe that there are thousands of people, young and old, who have heard the call of God across Great Britain and we are convinced that Mattersey is well placed and ready to receive and equip them for Spirit-empowered, Bible-based service.

Mattersey Hall offers two undergraduate programmes – a BA (Hons) degree in Biblical Studies and Theology (BA-BST), and a BA (Hons) degree in Christian Leadership (BA-CL). Each of these undergraduate degrees last three years, full-time (studying 120 credits worth of modules each year). For those who already have a Bachelors degree in a non-theological discipline, and who would like to pursue theological study, and maybe go on to take a Masters degree, we also offer a fully validated one year full-time Graduate Diploma in Theological Studies. All three programmes may also be studied part-time and are available in two delivery formats, either onsite or as a distance learning programme.

These days, more and more people are enrolling on postgraduate courses. Recognised postgraduate qualifications reflect advanced professional training or specialist knowledge and ability. At Mattersey Hall, we are committed, not only to the next generation of Christian leaders, but also, to the support of those currently involved in Christian leadership; and we hope our postgraduate programmes might figure as part of your continuing professional development: building and refreshing skills, offering new insights, and discussing, researching and evaluating new ideas.
