The College was first established in the centre of Hereford in the 1850s. Since then, it has grown to offer a whole host of courses and qualifications to local, national and international students.

We are one of only four specialist arts colleges in the country, offering a range of courses in art, design, performing arts and music. Our courses range from entry level all the way through to Foundation, Honours and Masters Degrees.

Our specialism means we can give a unique focus and quality to the way of life here at HCA. We’re a small college, so our students benefit from our individual and personal attention from expert tutors who are available for a chat at almost any time, any day of the week.

Our studio based courses offer students their own individual work space, and all of our courses are kept small, enabling students to get the very best from their education and to get to know everyone on their course – as well as lots of other students and tutors from other courses!

As well as our College and University-Level courses, we also offer a wide range of services to individuals and businesses. Our Short Course programme offers a host of learning and leisure opportunities, and we also run courses and training programmes for businesses. Businesses regularly contact us to invite our students to design artwork for their products and services, or to invite them to take up work placements and internships.
