Cardiff and Vale College

Cardiff and Vale College (CAVC) is one of the largest colleges in the country, with 20,000 students and 900 members of staff. We are transforming education and training across the capital region of Wales in top class industry facilities and centres of excellence across sites in Cardiff and the Vale, in the community and in the workplace.

In August 2011, Barry College and Coleg Glan Hafren, two established and successful Further Education colleges, merged to create Cardiff and Vale College and over the last four years our student success rate has continued to rise with 86% currently achieving their main qualification - one of the best records in the sector.

We are the only further education college in Wales to be a proud member of the Gazelle group, offering our learners unique opportunities to be entrepreneurial and employable and equipping them with CV and UCAS application-boosting skills that will benefit them when progressing into their chosen career or University. From opportunities to enter UK-wide competitions such as Market Maker, which CAVC learners have won the last two years running, to other enterprise and technologies competitions such as IDEA and The Edge.

The Employer Solutions arm of the College supports employers and the economy of the region with bespoke training and apprenticeships, working with employers across the region, the UK and beyond.

Cardiff and Vale College works with more individuals, partners and employers than ever before to develop communities and to drive economic, social and cultural regeneration of our capital region.
